Twenty-two previously undisclosed letters by members of the former Loyola Community in Slovenia have been included in the Vatican's ongoing canonical criminal trial, according to OSVNews.com (August 6). The letters were written during Easter 2000 after the community's superior, Sister Ivanka Hosta, asked the 40 sisters to write directly to Rupnik about their relationship with him as part of the Jubilee Year. The sisters were instructed to describe what had happened and to offer forgiveness in a process of reconciliation. Twenty-two of the letters describe psychological, spiritual or sexual abuse. The letters are held in the archives of the Loyola Community, now in the custody of the Archdiocese of Ljubljana. Their full contents have not been made public. According to OSVNews, the letters describe alleged manipulation, coercion, abuse of authority, and physical and sexual assaults. Several sisters said Fr Rupnik used spiritual direction and religious language to pressure them into acts …ច្រើន

One must first understand why wars are fought in the first place. Christian Rakovsky, a founder of Jewish Bolshevism and one of the architects of World War II, was very clear on why that war was fought. First, to punish Germany for printing their own money and prevent their example from spreading to other nations. Second, to prevent Germany's nationalistic spirit from spreading to other nations. Third, and most importantly, to weaken and destroy the Catholic Church. Here are Rakovsky's own words, tape recorded and reprinted in the book Red Symphony by Dr. J. Landowsky "Hitler, this uneducated and elementary man . . . took over for himself the privilege of manufacturing money . . . Are you capable of imagining what would have come of this system if it had infected a number of other states . . . This is very serious. . . . There is only one solution - war. "We have yet another reason, a religious one. Communism cannot be the victor if it will not have suppressed the still living Christianity …ច្រើន
Leo XIV will wear liturgical vestments by his homosexual tailor Filippo Sorcinelli, 51, during the celebrations today in Assisi and on 22 August in Rimini. Sorcinelli said this in an interview with Corriere.it on 2 August. The Assisi vestments draw inspiration from 13th- and 14th-century paintings of the Porziuncola, while the Rimini vestments, created for a Eucharist by the sea, feature porthole motifs symbolizing water as the source of life. Sorcinelli says every papal vestment is designed specifically for the place and liturgy in which it will be used. He first met the future pope when he was still a cardinal, fitting him with a mitre presented by Augustinian confreres from Vienna. Sorcinelli says he later saw the same mitre reappear after Prevost's election as pope. Leo XIV's election helped Sorcinelli overcome a deep existential crisis. After more than a decade designing vestments for Pope Francis, Sorcinelli had considered leaving liturgical design to focus on organ music and his …ច្រើន
Chapter XXVI ~ The Third Dungeon The Red Hot Floor Look into this room. What a dreadful place it is! The roof is red hot; the floor is like a thick sheet of red hot iron. See, on the middle of that red hot floor stands a girl. She looks about sixteen years old. Her feet are bare, she has neither shoes nor stockings on her feet; her bare feet stand on the red hot burning floor. The door of this room has never been opened before since she first set her foot on the red hot floor. Now she sees that the door is opening. She rushes forward. She has gone down on her knees on the red hot floor. Listen, she speaks! She says; "I have been standing with my feet on this red hot floor for years. Day and night my only standing place has been this red hot floor. Sleep never came on me for a moment, that I might forget this horrible burning floor. Look," she says, "at my burnt and bleeding feet. Let me go off this burning floor for one moment, only for one single, short moment. Oh, that in the endless …ច្រើន

Normalization of Pseudo Deaconesses at the Altar: On 26 July, the Parish of Timelkam in the Diocese of Linz, Austria, celebrated the patronal feast of St. Anne in Oberthalheim, reported the parish's Facebook page. As is now common in German-speaking dioceses, a female pastoral assistant, vested in an alb and liturgical scarf, was carrying out liturgical ministry from both the ambo and at the altar during the Eucharist.

The Real Reason Behind Trump’s Yen Intervention Aug. 6, 2026, 7:00 p.m. ET nytimes.com/…6/opinion/treasury-yen-trump-currenc… By Eswar Prasad Dr. Prasad is a professor at Cornell University and a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution. It’s rare for the United States to intervene in another country’s currency policy. It usually happens because there is a crisis. But in recent cases involving Argentina, Japan and the United Arab Emirates, none of those countries had reached the level of emergency usually required. In all three the Trump administration has directly supported or offered support for their currencies. Why would the administration do this? After all, it seems risky and expensive to buy another country’s currency or even offer to temporarily swap dollars for that currency, especially one whose value is falling. None of these actions were born of benevolence. The administration has U.S. economic interests in mind but is also keen to propagate its policies and reward its …ច្រើន
"Every religion legitimately considers itself to possess the truth," Cardinal Jean-Marc Aveline, Archbishop of Marseille and president of the French Bishops' Conference, said in an interview on Avvenire.it on August 5. Talking about Marseille's religious diversity [where Arabic has long become the dominant language], Cardinal Aveline described the coexistence of Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, and Christians as a theological challenge: "We did not invent the plurality of religions, nor the fact that every religion legitimately considers itself to possess the truth." On the Church's catholicity, Aveline claims: "The Creed we recite every Sunday embodies the Church's vocation to catholicity. If I had been born in China, I would have been Confucian; in Japan, Shinto." He argued that the Church's catholicity means recognizing "the desire for God in the hearts of women and men of every religion." Citing the Second Vatican Council, he said the Holy Spirit offers everyone "the possibility of being …ច្រើន

"WOULD that I could cry out" (said this blessed soul, when under Divine illumination she saw these things), "loud enough to strike with fear every man upon the earth, and say, Miserable beings, why suffer ye yourselves to be so blinded by this world as to make no provision for the dire strait ye will find your selves in at the hour of death ? Ye all shelter yourselves under the hope of God's mercy, which ye say is so great ; and ye consider not that this very goodness of God will rise up in judgment against you for having opposed the will of so good a Master: His mercy ought to constrain you to do all His Will, and not encourage you to do evil. Be assured that His justice cannot yield, but must in one way or other be fully satisfied. Let no one buoy himself up saying, ' I …ច្រើន
"Let no one buoy himself up saying, ' I shall confess ; and then I shall receive a plenary indulgence, where by I shall be cleansed from all my sins and get through safely.' Know that a plenary indulgence requires confession and contrition ; and this latter is so difficult to obtain, that if ye knew how difficult, ye would tremble with fear, and rather make sure of not gaining than of gaining the indulgence."

Bishop Athanasius Schneider recalled his childhood in the underground Church of the Soviet Union during a talk in Cobh, Ireland, on August 3, AdVaticanum.com reports. “There were times when we had gatherings like this, but we had to close the windows and the doors because we were checked by the secret police, and we had to hide priests.” He recounted the story of Bishop Alexander Chira (1897-1983), a clandestine Greek Catholic bishop whom Soviet authorities urged “not to deny Christ, but only to become Orthodox,” thereby breaking communion with Rome. “He refused,” Bishop Schneider said, and, as a consequence, he was imprisoned in “several concentration camps called gulags.” Afterward, Bishop Chira lived under house arrest in Karaganda, concealing his identity as a bishop to avoid being sent back. “He could not reveal his identity as a bishop,” Bishop Schneider said. “Otherwise, he would be sent back. So he could only say to the people, ‘I am Father Alexander.’” Catholic priests celebrated …ច្រើន

August 6 - Blessed Tadeusz Dulny Blessed Tadeusz Dulny, also known as Tadeo Dulny, Taddeo Dulny, and Thaddeus Dulny, was born on 8 August 1914 in Kszczonowice, Swietokrzyskie, Poland, as one of eight children of Jan and Antonina Dulny. He grew up in a deeply religious family that fostered his own piety and devotion. Tadeusz's strong calling to the priesthood led him to become a seminarian in the diocese of Wloclawek, Poland. Although he was not an exceptional student, he was admired for his devout nature and his commitment to his vocation. However, the outbreak of World War II and the Nazi invasion of Poland brought about a sudden and tragic turn of events. On 7 October 1939, Tadeusz, along with other seminarians and their teachers, was arrested by the Nazis. They were taken prisoners and confined in the Salesian College of Lad, which had been transformed into a temporary detention center. Despite the dire circumstances, the teachers continued their clandestine instruction of the …ច្រើន

Novus Ordo Goes to the Dogs: On 26 June, a video of a Eucharistic celebration at the Santo Domingo Savio parish in Villavicencio, Colombia, went viral after two dogs started howling along with Rev. Carlos Mario Peña Lopera as he sang a hymn. The dogs, Simón and Luna, are strays that the priest took in and who now regularly accompany him at Eucharists, often sitting near the altar. According to Rev. Peña Lopera, Luna had not previously joined in the howling alongside Simón. The priest continued the hymn without interruption.
